Torah is more than just the stories of our ancestors or the stories of our tradition. Torah is made up of the stories of our lives. Each day we wake up and add another verse, hoping that the story we are creating has lasting value and impact. One of the ways to make our stories have lasting value is to connect them and see them in the context of the values and teachings within the eternal Torah of our people. That’s the intersection comprising our Unique Torah, where the Torah of our lives meets with the Torah of our tradition to become a Lasting Teaching, a teaching that emanates from our hearts and resonates throughout history.
On Friday Night, we will have an opportunity to stand at that intersection between the Torah of our lives and the Torah of our tradition as Cantor Steve Zeidenberg and I lead a special service highlighting the Unique Torah that we have to share with the world. More than just infusing the traditional service with personal stories, we will attempt to highlight how Unique Torah can be a guiding principle to make life meaningful in a deeply personal and spiritual way. What’s more, the service will be an invitation for each of us to consider the Unique Torah we have to share and to contemplate how best we want to share it. So as you begin to consider the Unique Torah you have to share, why not be inspired by a taste of Cantor Zeidenberg’s Unique Torah which you can see by clicking on the link below…
May the stories of our ancestors, of our tradition, and of our own lives be fused together as our Unique Torah and become a Lasting Teaching for all who hear it.
