DAY 1215: Holding Up A Mirror

Dear Hevreh, It's been awhile since I've last written and I admit, it's been something that I've missed. With the hustle and bustle of daily life it's easy to to forget the need to reflect. Yet, without reflecting we aren't able to see what's going on around us and what we're apart of. Think about the Hebrew term for "mirror" -- r'ee (ראי). It comes from the root r-a-h (ראה) meaning "to see." A mirror helps us see ourselves -- our flaws and strengths -- so that when we "hold it up to ourselves" we can better understand what makes us tick.
