This Week at Beth Mordecai

Wednesday, Oct. 17, 12 noon. Ask the Rabbi. Join Rabbi Metz at the Menlo Park Mall food court, near Panera. Every Wednesday this month we will be studying Pirke Avot, an ancient (and always relevant) text from the Mishna on ethics and interpersonal relationships.  Join the discussion or bring a question of your own. Friday, Oct. 19, 8 p.m. Kabbalat Shabbat. Join us for a traditional Friday night service. Saturday, Oct. 20, 10:00 a.m. Shabbat services and Blessing of the Pets. Services at the Gazebo in Bayview Park including (in honor of Noah) Blessing of the Pets. All creatures invited. Leashes required. See more information and map here. Sat Sept 29, 10 a.m. – Shabbat and Sukkot services with Yizkor. Read Rabbi's Shabbat Message. UPCOMING EVENTS! Mon October 1, 6:30 p.m. Simchat Torah. Join us to sing and dance with the Torah. Please help us make a minyan so that community members can read from the end of the final Torah portion and the beginning of B'rei-shit.   Check the three flyers below for all our Sukkot events!

Exciting News

On behalf of the Board of Trustees, it gives me great pleasure to announce that Baby Girl Metz joined our Congregation last evening.  Weighing in at 7 lbs. 14 oz., everyone is doing well and the family is beyond thrilled. During the 6 weeks of Rabbi Metz’s maternity leave, Shabbat Services will be led by a number of our wonderful lay leaders.  Below is the schedule. One Week Travel and Study in Berlin, Krakow and Auschwitz

Interfaith Program in Professional Ethics takes place October 6-13, 2018. Dear Community Members, While in Rabbinical School, I had the incredible opportunity to study and travel with a group based out of the Museum of Jewish Heritage in New York called "Fellowships at Auschwitz for the Study of Professional Ethics."  I participated in a fellowship with an interfaith clergy group.
