Congregation Beth Mordecai is hosting a FREE ACTIVE SHOOTER WORKSHOP to teach local synagogue and church leaders how to prepare, prevent and react in the event of an active shooter incident. Guest speaker: Jesus “Jay” Martinez, a former U.S. Recon Marine and Lead & Senior Training Officer, S.W.A.T. – Commander. Jay has developed multiple training manuals, courses and train the trainer courses that are being adopted by major U.S. police agencies. Join us to read and discuss "The Haj," by Leon Uris. The Haj is an epic story of hate and love, vengeance and forgiveness. It is about a Palestinian Arab family caught up in the Middle East's historic events of the 1920s-1950s as witnessed by Ishmael, the youngest son of a village leader's family. The book discusses the interactions and clashed between Ishmael's village and the Jewish pioneers building up Palestine, and making it into Israel.
